3D City Model of Trieste
The 3D City Model of Trieste 1:1'000 (LOD1) is based on data from DigitalGlobe and OpenStreetMap. We modeled using Trimble Sketchup with some plugins and used Autodesk Netfabb to cut the model into pieces, that fit on a Creality CR-10 S5 3d printer.

Gregor Luetolf
Gregor is a 3d printing nerd returning to Trieste every year for the Mini Maker Faire, hoping to take a picture together with Carlo and his lovely mother. Working between hobby and professional applications, he uses software and hardware tools to model and print geodata in 3d for the joy or on request from customers. Formations as an Elementary School Teacher, Computer Scientist and Geographer at Universities in Switzerland provide a solid base for his impressive maker projects. In 2017 his huge 3d printed multimedia terrain map of the Canton of Bern in Switzerland 1:25'000 won him an award from the International Cartography Association in Washington D.C.
