MTsoil sensors

Science
Moisture and Temperature are two basic physical properties of soil used to monitor the health of the soils of our forests, to help detect big changes in soil conditions, and to assess the hazards of wildfires spreading.
MTsoil is an inexpensive system of coupled moisture and temperature sensors. It is controlled via Telegram bot, can log the data into a Google sheet, and can easily be integrated into a dense network to monitor our forests.

Erika Ronchin

Erika Ronchin is a volcanologist and soil scientist, now involved in the study of the effects of bio-based fertilizers on soil for agriculture purposes. Following a significant wildfire that profoundly impacted her local environment, her interest in measuring soil conditions and understanding how to keep it healthy motivated her to build affordable sensors.
